Another 32nd Birthday

I tak pernah pun update pasal husband punya birthday kan? Hehehe...asyik story pasal birthday sendiri je, over betol. This year i decided to share on what we did on my husband's birthday. 

Both my kids are wise enough to know what birthday is so i decided to get them involve. We do almost everything together like suggesting birthday presents, wrapping the presents, 'bake' the cake and all the usual stuff people do on birthdays to make it memorable for them. 

Started by suggesting the gifts. Actually ada penipuan di situ because husband already knew what i am going to give him, in fact he is the one who bought it (using my money of course) and handed it to me to be wrapped. My kids taktau yang bapak diorang dah tau, so when Adam asked his bapak what he wanted for his birthday, my husband will said "Nintendo 3ds". Knowing that i rejected the idea when my husband told me this last time, Adam replied to my husband "Hmm, mak takkan beli punya, mahal tau tak". So on the day i wrap the gifts Adam found out that it is actually what his bapak wanted. But i warned him not to tell and make it as a surprise. Well...Adam being kepo and memang tak pandai simpan rahsia, dengar je bunyi pintu buka when bapak dia balik keja, terus lari sua muka kat celah pintu, whispered to my husband "Mak beli hadiah Nintendo 3ds kat bapak". Haihhh....hopelesss!!!! Nasibla bapak dia memang dah tahu, dia gelak jela tengok anak dia yang kepo tu. Me, knowing my son better, did not tell him about what another gift was. 

 I lupa beli wrapping paper, balut pakai Astro magazine je. Look at the message Adam wrote. "Adam dan Dania bagi bapak"..literally! Hehehehe..

Next thing is baking. Well not actually baking la. I do not have an oven. So i opt fo a non-bake oreo cheesecake. A recipe i found on youtube. Senang je, orang yang macam i, more than 10yrs tak bake pun boleh buat. Walaupun tak jadi sangat. Tak jadi pasal my kids terlebih rajin pecahkan biskut marie lebih, resulted to the butter added not enaough to make them stick together. So berderai la base kat bawah oreo cheesecake tu. Nevertheless, still sedap...cuma tak cantik. Tak cantik pasal i bijak sangat guna pinggan lebar, so cheesecake filling to nipis je, patutnya tebal. Hahahaa...  Semangat diorang ni amik peluang sibuk-sibuk di dapur. A good experience for them.

Haa...luaran memang la nak sama. Dah potong amek ko, berterabuq crushed cookies kat bawah tu. Very not presentable. Tapi yang penting sedap. Hehehe.

Most important thing was...the birthday-man was happy and glad we did it all wholeheartedly.

Another Year Older

 

While i am away from the blog sphere, i am another year older. Yessss..i am 32 alreadeehhhh! Alhamdulillah for 32 years of life. Hope i am more wiser and kinder.

Every year mesti i akan buat wish lists for my birthday presents kannn? Well i'll skip that for today because takdak apa sangat nak wish pun. Most of the stuff i wanted last year i already got them.

But i still get presents from my husband and sisters. Before my birthday, my husband kept asking what i want, i always answered i only want iphone5 (coz that time i uses my husband's old & outdated iphone 3gs). If he couldn't afford to buy me iphone5 then i tak kisahla dia nak beli apa pun because i taktau nak mintak apa for birthday. I did not paksa him pun because i know iphone5 is ridiculously expensive, even i pun sayang duit nak beli! But my husband being sweet and thoughtful and also because he just been given bonus & increments, presented me with a smashing brand new iphone5..yayyy! Why iphone5? Because it takes awesome pictures and i can finally buy all those cute phone covers!! Currently i am using this cover. Proves that i am still nuts about polka dots! And it matches my blog's background! Because the polka dots is 3D (timbul-timbul), my kids love to play with it. Tanya nak warna apa lepas tu buat-buat ambil makan candy from the colored circles.

Then my husband treats me birthday lunch at Tony Roma's. I ordered lamb ribs (i am a sucker for lambs). It was sooo goood!  The lamb meat is tender and the crispy fat layers is scrumptious!

 My sister also blanja makan buffet lunch at Cyberview hotel. The food was ok but by the time we reached there most of the good stuff is finished. Nevermind, still had great time chit-chating with my sister. 

My younger sis gave me a sunglasses. Ok, i yang mintak sunglasses tu dari dia..hehehe. Because my favourite sunglasses dah jatuh dalam jamban kat R&R. When we went to shop for sunglasses, i was quite shocked to know that most branded ones are priced over RM1k! I never knew, because all these while i pakai yang RM10 pasar malam sunglasses saja, habis mahai pun yang Vincci ja, tu pun about RM20++ ja. And of course la i tak kering hati mintak dia beli yang mahal. After survey,Ray Ban punya gak yang ok. Below RM500, and the design suit my taste. I chose this design. A tortoise frame wayfarer. The others tak berkenan sangat, mostly macam mak datin sangat. Frame besar bulat, makes me look older and rounder. Rectangular shaped is just nice for my round chubby face.

Ok enoughla cerita pasal birthday. I am just thankful for the life i have. Actually on March is all about eating. If you see my instagram pictures, it is full of food pictures. Dania's 2nd Birthday

My darling daughter hits 2 years old last Saturday, 4th August. On the same day we had small iftar gatherings at my sister's house in Puchong. So i ordered cake for a cake cutting session after that. Dania, being still young, was oblivious of her birthday. But when we brought out the Elmo cake and sang her birthday song she was so excited and happy. She jumps, dances and claps. It was so worth it when i saw her reactions.

Dania is a big girl already. She has different attitude than her brother. Unlike her brother she is more stubborn, more cunning and prefer to play alone. My curly haired girl enjoy Elmo & Upin Ipin. She still needs pacifier (only) during bedtime and obsess with my breast (maybe due to breastfeeding??). Very jealous of anyone that come close to me especially her father & brother. Pantang nampak bapak or abang dia bermanja duduk dekat i, mesti nangis tolak & cubit sampai bapa die dok jauh sket. Being a girl, as usual she is fast learner and mature earlier. Couldn't really talk properly yet, but sampai la hajat kalau nak sesuatu. She just mutters the word  and most of the time i will understand what she wants.

My doa for her is that she will be a happy kid and grow up to be a decent lady. Dania, mak loves you very much and even when you have grown up, you will still be my darling baby!

Adam's 5th Birthday

Yesterday was my son's birthday. Time fly so fast, he already 5! Grown up to be a very active boy, talkative, sibuk, and also manja. Kalau Adam ada dekat rumah memang kecoh je memanjang. Lompat sana sini. His favourite things to do most of the time is playing fights. Ala, lawan dengan diri sendiri dengan sound effect dari mulut 'dush..dush' (bersembur habis air liur). Dia yang tumbuk dia yang jatuh. Macam orang gila pun ada dok tengok. Even worse kalau atas katil or sofa, lompat macam kuda kena sawan babi..hahahaahha..ok over pulak describe.

His birthday falls on 2nd April which is Monday. So the weekend before that we decided to bring him to Aquaria KLCC. He was excited strolling along the aquariums. He was scared at all the big fishes and also the piranha's aquarium because he saw a human skeleton in there (he actually thought someone really died being eaten by the piranhas). Overall, Aquaria was quite good, was amazed by the beautiful fishes. The only set back was it was a short trip. You have to slowly browse the place, or you will finish the tour in less than 30 mins. After Aquaria, we jalan-jalan around KLCC. I wanted to buy Adam a new slippers. Just because he treasure his slippers and the current one he had already worn out. Couldn't remember the name of the shop but they sells cute children shoes (a bit pricey but still acceptable). Since Adam love superheroes, he chose this Hulk slippers. Cantik jugak la.

After that we went to Toys R us. My husband wanted Adam to choose any toys he fancy. Being a Toys R Us club member, able to redeem RM30 voucher on birthday. But have to spend above RM150. Adam takde benda yang dia nak beli but Dania was fond at this sort of bicycle (not really a bicycle). The one at home already pecah and dangerous to ride, so my husband decided to use the voucher to buy new 'bicycle' for Dania. In case you want to know, below are the 'bicycle' pic.

Then on Monday, the birthday day itself i just buy a cake for Adam to bring to school. Just to make the day memorable to him. Rasa la syok sket ada kawan-kawan nyanyi Happy Birthday, blow candles bagai. Sorryla Adam, no budget to do birthday party for you this year. All budget has gone to our Singapore trip later. Later, for dinner my husband bought satay as requested by Adam (one of his favourite food). And also gave him his birthday present. Something for him to use to learn math. Tapi adik dia Dania yang excited nak main (nampak tak tangan sibuk dok pegang benda tu?) 

Quite a memorable birthday. I like any birthday to be memorable. Not necessary to celebrate with lavish party or present but an activity done together as a thought and full of memories that can make you smile for many years to come. Knowing you are matters in someone life, and they make an effort to show you that are what make a year older not so bad after all! 

31st Birthday

31 already? Haih.....i always wonder this, when people look at me at first glance, do they think i am 30-ish or 40-is or MAYBE late 20-ish. Well, i always think i look older than my age due to my size. To make things worse, my older sister (who is 3 years older than me) still look like she just finishes high school. So you can imagine how i always receive a surprise look whenever strangers found out she is my older sister. Used to cut me deep but now i just sniff it off with a crooked smile. I envy petite people!

On my birthday is when i would feel like a superstar on Facebook where my timeline will be bombarded with birthday wishes and the notifications keep coming like crazy. I spent half of my day reading & replying friends and family's wishes. I get to experience what superstar like Lisa Surihani felt for awhile. Hahaha! Well, in the world of facebook & twitter, almost everybody know today is your birthday due to the reminder. Kalau real life jangan harapla nak dapat lebih dari 5 wishes (family excluded).

Ok, remember i told that i already got my birthday presents in advance from my husband and sisters? I'm going to share it here. Nothing much, benda murah je but they are the things that i requested. All pics taken were filtered by Instagram.

Remember i said i want to join gym? Due to time constrain, i just asked my husband to buy this bike for my birthday. Been cycling for 30mins everyday, sweat like hell! 

I need body lotions and body scrubs. Body Shop was having 30% sale , so i spontaneously asked my sister to buy these for me as a birthday gift! The lotion smells sooo nice and it lasted all day!

Fell in love with the aztec prints on this kimono jacket from F21.  Since i love kimono jacket, i requested my sis to buy me this. Usually i just asked her to buy me books, but not this year as i still have some books that haven't read.

Ok that are all my presents. Only 3 people bother to buy me presents every year and these 3 person are all that matters and i precious them till death. My parents usually buy me stuff but not this year, i already warned them not to. Kesian kat diorang kena keluar duit beli hadiah kat anak yang dah tua ni and they don't even have much money to spend pun. They did send me birthday card but i forgot to snap pic.

Apart from those presents i also dapat great deals on my birthday. For instance i got 30% discount at Body Shop, Nuffnang send me 4 TGV movie tickets, i can make calls to my Xpax Celcom numbers for free for 1 week. Okla tu kan...atleast feels special la sikit kan..hahaha. Oh and one more thing, my husband bought me red velvet cupcakes from Delicious..tak sabar nak makan malam ni. And my son Adam said last night that he want to buy me a ring. You wait...i will demand it on your first salary! Hahaha..

Tomorrow going back to Sarawak. I always find my husband's hometown very peaceful. I always said to my husband, "Kalau i ni fugitive, kampung you la paling sesuai hiding spot" Really, really excluded from town. Macam kalau movie thriller geng critters or tremors nak serang selalu mesti pilih small town yang terperincil kan. So memang perfect location for that kind of scene. Hahaha..apa i merepek ni. Okla dear...i end my blog post here, on the day of my birthday. Before that i want to say my syukur for Allah for all these years, 31 years of my life been a blessed. Most of the bless come from the people Allah surrounded me with. Thank you Allah, and also thank you mak for pushing me out from you fit & healthy!

1 year old Dania

Today is Dania's 1st birthday. Oh how time flies! It did not feel like it, Dania been in my life, our life for one whole year. She completes our family, because now i have a son and a daughter. Her laughter, the funny sound that comes out from her little mouth, her silly moves that she keep repeating because it makes us laugh, her eagerness  when there are foods and her clinging habits that follows me around everywhere. I will always cherished all that and it will be a sweet memory that i'll keep in me forever.

Since it is Dania's birthday, i want to share my pregnancy & labor experience. Just a brief story, so that Dania or anyone interested to know about it for future references.

My pregnancy was actually planned but somehow miscalculated. We decided to let off any precaution and ready to conceive our second child, because we wanted 3 years gap between Adam and his sister/brother. On just one try between 1 month, i was already pregnant. But like i said, it was miscalculated because by being pregnant on that time, means that i would deliver my baby near Ramadan, won't able to fast the whole Ramadan and still on my confinement when Syawal comes. And also my mother has to leave my dad alone at kampung during puasa month, just to take care of me during my confinement period. Kesian & leceh kan? Well, what to do kan?

My pregnancy was a challenge to me. Not because of the pregnancy itself because i did not experience any nausea, morning sickness, fatigue or anything that bothers my well beings. It was a challenge to me emotionally & mentally because at that time my dear late brother was sick and hospitalized. I was up & down to the hospital like it was my second home. Both my mom & husband was worried at me being exposed to hospital environment and also from the stress. But they won't dare to stop me because my mom still needs me handling everything and my husband knew me better that i would be stubborn and refuse to just sit quietly only because i am pregnant. My focus was my brother, my pregnancy was not my primary concern and i would only pray that Allah help me to ease my burden. Final blow was my brother's death, i was about 5 months pregnant that time. I was in grief, extremely sad that my soon to be born daughter would not know or meet her uncle.

So the rest of my pregnancy period after the great ordeal gone very smoothly. Till 4th August 2010, i went to work as usual but feeling a bit unease at my stomach. More like a period cramps. Keep running up & down the stairs to toilet (i use second floor toilet) thinking maybe i need to pass motion. Came noon, the pain were stronger but bearable. I still refused to accept that it was the sign for labor because my plan was to wait for my mom to come, which was still 5 days away. I was on my 38th weeks at that time. My husband dah kalut & worried. After work, i went home. I still can tahan the pain which came every 15 minutes. Sempat lagi suruh my husband bought KFC for dinner. Went to hospital at 8pm. Admitted, only 3cm dilated. Was given drips to fasten the dilation and doc came to manually pecahkan air ketuban. After that i was struggling like hell, battling with the pain. Shooting anger at my husband, making him even more kalut. The pain was extreme...only Allah knows! 10pm i was already 7cm dilated and was sent to labor room because i dah start nak teran. It happened so fast, all i could remember was that i push and push like crazy and finally this wonderful & precious lil' human being was put on my arm. She was born at 10.30pm, weighing 3kgs (the same weight as her brother). The pain instantly gone when i saw Dania's beautiful face. Alhamdulillah you came out healthy! We decided to name her Dania because it resembles of my brother's name which is Danial.

Now, after 1 year has passed, she still makes me happy and lift up my problem & pains away whenever i see her. Now i have 2 kids that makes me happy each day, both are equally love by me & husband. After one year, Dania can do lots of thing. She started to walk at 9 months, calling 'mak', ' bapak', 'abang' (eventhough sometime they sound the same), sips water from straw, imitates whatever we did or talk in her own funny way, has interest in books or colorful pictures and learn to play with toys.

Since it is fasting month, we won't be having any celebration or party. Just going to buy a small cakes as a momentous to signify a special day. Dania, my curly haired daughter..i wish you grown up to be a beautiful, healthy & happy child. I love you sooooo much! Now please enjoy the pictures.

Birthday & Plankton

I wanted to do a post for my Penang trip, but quite busy lately so i will do it later when i have the time & mood to. I hope i can post every event & exciting moment on my blog as a recorded memories, so that one day, some day in the future i can read back and smile. This is the actual reason i started this blog. Not really for people to read but for me to read in the future, in case i might forget or want to revive those happy or sad moments in my life.

Talking about event, here what coming next on my diary:

This boy, my son Adam 4th birthday party which falls on 2nd April, Saturday. The theme will be Spongebob Squarepants. He loves to watch Spongebob cartoon and guess what his favourite character? 

Yes baby, Mr. Plankton. His favourite is that little evil Plankton. Haihh, among all the cute characters, he choses this. Well, my son is unique in his own way, biaq pi kat dia la. Oh, sometime he call Plankton as 'Mata satu'. If we would ask him what he wants for birthday, he will says Plankton. Mana la nak cari mainan Plankton sayang oiii...pelik sungguh! He even request for Plankton picture on his birthday cake. That i objected, because i rasa macam geli tengok plankton hijau tu atas cake that will be eaten by all my guests. So we decided to put all of Spongebob cartoon characters' pic including the notorious Plankton on the cake.

Will try to capture as many photo as possible. Lots of yummy food will be served, since my mother, the greatest cook is here to help. So just wait for the birthday post soon..or as soon as possible.

Post Birthday Lunch

Almost 2 weeks past my birthday, finally i got my (post) birthday treat from my husband. I chose Delicious cafe at One Utama. When we arrived, the place was almost full with people. I straight away went to the dessert display so that i know which to order later. To my disappointment, my Berry Pavlova not available. So sad! So i ordered Banoffee Pie instead. Banoffee Pie is a pie with rich cream toppings and banana & toffee filling inside. It was sweet but still tolerable. Quite tasty but if i am given a choice to order desserts, i won't order it again. For main dish, i ordered Spicy Seafood Spaghetti which is really good. It was served, drenched with olive oil and sprinkled with some spicy herbs that give a light spicy taste which i think, perfected the taste. Too bad the seafood was so little, only 2 prawns & about 5 slices of squids. My husband ordered Hainanese Chicken Chop (he is a fan of chicken) which is quite good as well. 2 chunks of fried fillet with sweet sour sauce, nothing to shout about. I ordered 4 Cheese Macaroni for my son, since he love macaroni so much. With only cheese and macaroni, it is soooo memualkan when you eat it. He only managed to eat half of it. Now, just enjoy the pictures that i took effort to take but excuse my lack of photography skill. *LOL*
