Cerita Puasa

1 week to Syawal. I guess still not too late to wish Selamat Berpuasa to all of you. 

1 more week for us to gain as much pahala as we can. Bulan Ramadhan ni kan hadiah untuk kita dari Allah. Kalau dah hadiah sure special & meaningful kan? So don't put it to waste, cepat dapatkan pahala berganda sepanjang Ramadhan.

My son, Adam never miss a day of fasting. MasyaAllah, he is strong. When i was his age, balik skolah memang lembik macam budak kebulur kat Afrika. But Adam, tak macam tu. Dia aktif lari sana sini. Adala jugak komplen haus. Tapi mulut je cakap haus, physically still active.

Teringat zaman i puasa dulu. Tak salah time darjah 2 kot. I got all sort of ideas to kelentong nak minum air. Paling kelakar was this one time when Sustagen datang buat promo kat sekolah. Tak sensitive sungguh buat time puasa. If you are about the same age as me, mesti ingat maskot Sustagen Susy & Geno.

They came as a promo to Sustagen drinks. They dance & sing  and last slot is hand out free Sustagen drinks. Bila nak bagi drinks tu cikgu cakap, siapa yang tak puasa boleh datang ke depan berbaris ambil minuman. I yang memang takde niat betul & luhur untuk berpuasa cepat bangun beratur. Sedap uollzz! Tak rasa nyesal & bersalah langsung batal puasa. Hahahahaha...

Nak jadi cerita, ada la spy pi report kat my parents cakap i tak puasa. Apa lagi, kena interrogate la dengan diorang. You all tau apa alasan i bagi? Memang stupid punya alasan. I told them yang i tak sengaja minum. Ada budak tu terjatuh, and air tu termasuk dalam mulut i. Bodoh tak? Hahaha! My parents just keep silent and i am off the hook. Rasa diorang percaya ke? I think diorang tak tahan nak gelak kot, sebab tu diam je tak marah pun. I harap la my kids takdela buat perangai tak senonoh macam i. Dahla tak puasa, menipu, pastu bagi alasan tak senonoh! hahahaha!

Sekian cerita tak senonoh di bulan puasa ni. 

Actually i am still in sombre mood. Pasal  MH17 tragedy & also what happening to our brothers & sisters in Gaza. So inhumane and it make me soooo mad! Geramnya bila sesama manusia buat macam ni. I am afraid for the future. Proof that we all are only a small spec living helplessly in this world. The only thing i can control is what i did when i am alive, to gain my paradise hereafter. Kena fikir hidup untuk mati, pasal mati akan datang bila-bila dan ia pasti. Takutnya kalau amalan tak cukup bila dipanggil mengadap Allah. Sama-sama la kita berdoa ye, agar kita dilindungi Allah.

My Fatty Baju Kurung

Yes, i have gained weight. I look like a whale, i have quarter pounder double chin and my flabby tummy look like i am 7 months pregnant! When i went back to Alor Star, i received lots of comments on my weight gains. Yes, it is that obvious! They find it hard to believe that even after 1 month of fasting i did not shed any weight. I felt numb and insensitive. Because i already realized of my body condition and i guess already expected those feedback. Biasala, kalau pompuan jumpa dia akan comment things that obvious. "Eh dah gemok la" "Makin berseri mukak ko" "Nape makin kurus ni?" "Apsal muka ko berjerawat sekarang?" Betol tak korang pernah cakap semua ni bila jumpa your girlfriends?

Like i said, it did not hurt me at all. I sedar memang dah naik...banyak...rapidly since i stop breasfeeding my daughter...5kgs to be exact. So i memang dah agak orang akan tegur dan i pun redha jela, pasal benda dah obvious kan. Ofcourse i am worried. Currently i am working on it. Hope my diet regime works. I plan to cut-off whatever i usually eat (esp during lunch), no heavy dinner and substitute it with clean meal that consist of fruits, oats, yogurt, wholemeal bread or cereals. And also add some exercise every other day or at least twice a week. Gonna work on the bike and Nike Training apps i downloaded from ipad (this makes me sweat like hell & sore my muscles!). Oh and i also gonna cleanse and detox my body by drinking Juvanex. Nothing drastic like my last diet (which i lost 12kgs withing 6 months). We see how it goes. CONSISTENCY & DISCIPLINE is the key!

Ok back to the post topic, 'My Fatty Baju Kurung'. Well, you all seen my raya pic right? Saw my flower prints baju kurung? Besar kaann bunga dia, kaler-kaler lagi! I didn't know why i suka sangat dengan prints tu even though i knew the fact that i would look very fatty in it. When i brought the baju kurung out for ironing my sisters and mak were laughing and make jokes about my choice. I pun gelak sekali pasal i dah expect reaction tu. To make thing worse, i bought one size bigger and it is a baju kurung pahang. Dahla besar, kembang macam payung pulak..sure fatty boom boom punya lah! Well i didn't care i still proud of it, pakai jugak time raya and get ready for kutukan from relatives. I also memang got ready to brace the ugly raya pictures of me looking fat and makcik.

Buuuttttt...suprisingly most of the pictures of me tak nampak gemuk pun (well..gemuk jugak, cuma tak segemuk realiti). Yayy! Memang i pegi cuci gambar dan framekan terus. Hahahahaha! Maybe because i elak amik gambar solo, maybe also because i duduk tengah bila amik group pic and also maybe because i hide half of my body behind my husband (hahahaha!). It was my first time wearing tudung bawal, i rasa cara pemakaian tudung tu pun helps to slim down my chubby face. Oih..perasan sungguh kan? Takpela...i nak syok sendiri kerana berjaya buat ilusi optik. Here i show you some pic yang buat i nampak kecik sket dari realiti.

Exhibit 1: Sembunyi di belakang suami ku. So nampak setengah sahaja dari badan asal! Kalau mampu terus dok belakang dia just sua muka sahaja. Hahaha.

Exhibit 2: Kalau husband i yang sembunyi belakang i, ini la rupanya. Gambar gemoks & lebar. Cuba elakkan  dok depan, cover sket blakang husband, diorang bukan kisah pun gambar nampak kurus ke gemok ke comel ke.

Exhibit 3: Kalau amik group shot, chop berdiri tengah-tengah. Kakak i yang kecik slim melim tu pun nampak lebar dok tepi sekali, bayangkan kalau i yang dok tepi..tak sesuaiii you! 

Exhibit 4: Elakkan duduk posing macam ni. Menonggek akan menampakkan bumper yang extrvaganza. Dalam pic ni both of us tayang bumper pasal posing macam ni. Hanya kalau badan rupa bentuk Rozita Che Wan ja elok posing macam ni dan nampak vogue. Sungguh makcik gambar i yang ni -___-

Kalau sesiapa nak amik gambar tapi tak confident dengan badan sendiri boleh amik tips ni. Kalau i yang fatty boom boom pakai baju besar & kembang dengan print bunga besar warna-warni boleh buat slimming effect, sesungguhnya sesiapa pun boleh! 

Ultimate Random Facts

Since i got about half an hour free time at work before going out for lunch, thought i compose some random stuff.

In real life, if you are my family or friends, i love to throw some random general knowledge or fact (that i know from reading & watching TV). Yes, i am annoying like that. Not to brag but to share, because i rasa macam rugi kalau i tahu seorang. I need to share so that they know this thing exist, happens or real. I know la some are not interested to hear them pun, but i still nonchalantly throw one or two facts that i know, especially when we were talking on a related topics. Especially when i am watching Discovery channel or anything informative on TV, i will yell to my husband while he was playing games about any interesting discovery i came to know..just in case he want to know about it. Most of the time i think he don't even pay attention pun. Wait till my children grow up a little bit, i will bombarded them with all my facts & general knowledge. Hahahahaha...

Well...since i have a blog now i want to share with you all as well. Maybe you already know it. Or maybe you know only half of them. Never mind i still want to share. Please note that this knowledge are those i already knew & on my mind, not something i just googled to make this post. For those interested, here we goes!

• You must think your toilet bowl is the dirtiest & have the most germs in your bathroom. But no, the most infested germs not on your toilet bowl..it is on the door knob of your toilet door. Yeap, you hold it every time and i even hangs my towel on it! >_<

• Do you know that every time you pee, you will be swallowing your urine as well?  Because small amount of your urine will enters through your salivary glands. Next time, whenever you pee do pay attention & focus on the taste in your mouth. Hahaha..yuckie!

• When you talking on the phone while driving, it is almost equivalent to you being drunk (with alcohol) & drive. This is because your mind can't give 100% focus on the road and if something immediate as someone cross the road or the in front car instantly breaks, chances of you not aware about it are there. So people, it is dangerous tau, your call can wait!! 

• Envy those people with charming dimples? Well, now you can tell to their face that they are actually kind of cacat. Hahaha...This is because dimple forms when muscle on your cheek paralyzed, or macam tak function la. That is why when you smile or smirk or anything that effect your cheek, the muscle that dimp are not working well, hence dimple created. Anyway, i still love to see people with significant dimples when they smile...it brightens & sweetens their face!

• I think most people know this. Your urine is sterile. Means no germs or bacterias in them. Means that if you drink them you will not get food poisoning or get sick. The reason you don't drink them are that they are waste from your body and they taste & smell horrible! But interesting part is, your saliva is full of bacteria and you can't drink them. The only reason it survives in you mouth and you don't get sick when swallowing your own saliva is that there are special acid in your mouth that can kill them. 

• Have you read those post in FB about if you are being rob on ATM press 1234 or 4321 (not sure which one) to activate the alarm system at the ATM machine? Those are hoax. Don't believe them and no such technologies! If they are such alarm system don't you think the bank or police will inform us? It was widely circulated in India and people actually believe in them even though the police & bank already said it is not true. Baca pun susah nak percaya..apa lagi nak share kat FB. 

• This is something i heard on a show about our prophet Muhammad S.A.W. We know that our great prophet have lots of good & noble doings or sunnah rasul or sifat rasul that we can make them as a guide in our life. If i would to tell every sifat rasul here it would be a never ending post. But this particular one really ticked me. It is about our prophet being so hungry and get home to have his meal, expecting it is already prepared by his beloved wife. But his wife did not cook any meal on that day (don't know why). If you are the husband sure panasss je hati kan? Sure merajuk tarik muka gi cari makan kat luar kan? But do you know what our prophet did? He decided to fast on that day. Teramatlah mulia sifat. Who can really do that? After i heard the story i was so highly amazed, i decided to selawat to my beloved prophet everytime after my prayers.

• When you snap you finger, most of you think the sound of 'snap' comes from you fingers right? Well, it is actually come from you finger hitting your palm. Try snap it now and focus when the sound made, is it when your finger met or when your finger & palm met?? 

• When you see in cartoons or children book based on the Arctics, you will see polar bear & penguins together right? It is impossible because both animals live on opposite side of each other. Polar bear only lives in North Pole while penguin only lives in South Pole. How can they even meet. Even at zoo they are separated right? So next time you see polar bear & penguins hang out like best friend in cartoon, better brief your children about the facts!

Okla..that are all i can remember. Kalau ingat lagi i will tell. Now back to work. If any of you have any other interesting facts, share it with me. I love knowing about it!

Sesame Street

Remember Sesame Street? Last time (when i was a kid) it was so famous, everyday pun boleh tengok kat TV. Love to watch it, and try to learn all the stuff they teach. It was where i first knew that in America, they pronounce Z as 'Zi'. Now no more Sesame Street show on TV (atleast on Malaysian TV). What left is only The Elmo Show, which is fun as well. Was Adam's favourite, one day layan sampai 10x pun takpe.

Now..recently..my girl Dania love to layan all Sesame Street's songs. It started when i want to entertain her using my Ipad by loading youtube videos. Since then, everyday mesti wajib bagi tengok Sesame Street's song. Counting 1,2,3..singing A,B,C..duck song..disco song. Elmo this Elmo that. My husband has uploaded some of the songs from youtube and plug in the file onto our TV. Pantang pegang remote je mesti Dania's face will lighten up and humming sambil goyang badan (signaling that she wants to watch her Sesame Street song). Nasib tak pandai nak nyanyi lagi, if not mesti asyik melalak je menyanyi dalam rumah tu.

Before i end this post, wanna share you one funny conversation i had with my boy Adam that related to Elmo.

Me:  Nanti Adam kena pegi sekolah dah tau, dah besar.
Adam: Taknak..
Me: Kena pegi, kat sekolah nanti boleh blajar 1,2,3, blajar A,B,C
Adam: Mak ingat Adam ni Elmo ke!
Me: Errkkk....(sambil tahan gelak)

*Whoever yang blur, Elmo always sing numbers & alphabets so my 'clever' Adam thought only Elmo does that! *

Then & Now

Recently, #SayaGenerasi was trending on Twitter. Lots of people, most of them are from my era shared about what hot in the past, while growing up. It was entertaining to read all the tweets because it brings back good old memories, where handphones & internet are still rare and iphone/BB, digital camera, Astro or even our blogspot are non-existence. Life was sooo simple back then. So now i just want to share what i thought was 'in-trend' or maybe funny back then. Maybe some of you can relate and laugh about it. :D

Music:

I love listen to music.Tiap kali sebelum tido akan cucuk earphone dekat telinga dan dengar radio (that time was Radio4, the only english station) sampai la terlelap. That was before radio gone 24hrs, so on midnight lepas 'Negaraku' song, dah ended. So i will switch to cassete player. Dulu nak beli album mana la ada duit sangat, so the only way nak kumpul lagu2 yang best dalam cassete was to standby at the radio, lagu favourite on air je trs tekan button 'record & play' serentak to record it. Funny thing was, kekadang tu DJ dah inform in advance my favourite song gonna played soon, tapi iklan dulu pulak dah..and that time i really-really tak tahan nak pegi toilet so i just record the whole thing including those iklan dan DJ blabbering. Sekarang senang je, download je lagu kat internet, walaupun it is illegal & unethical to do that.

Handphone:

I got my own handphone when i was 18. Even on that time handphone was very exclusive, not all can afford it ok! Tambahan dulu handphone call charges amatla mahal kalau dibanding dengan fixed line. I bukan anak orang kaya, my father bought me secondhand handphone so that i can easily be contacted because that time baru masuk Matrikulasi. My handphone was Erricsson T10 warna kuning (sekarang Sony Erricson), time tu hot kot handphone tu! The smallest & colored handphone that time. SMS 30sen satu ok...mahai nak mampus! Ada skali tu sampai RM300 bil, memang kena bebel dengan my father la time tu. Funny thing was, if you want a funky ringtones instead of the boring ringing sound, you can compose your own song. Time tu sibuk la cari tone notes tu dalam majalah or internet. Tone notes tu lebih kurang rupa macam ni "2a11a 3cd8ee", means that we have to type that in our handphone to create one song or string of tones. Some of the famous one was Mission Impossible, Doraemon, Pink Panther, Looney Tunes. Those with rare ringing tones are considered cool! Konon!

Fashion:

When i was in me teen, baggy & tomboyish clothes are sooo in. So brands like Body Glove, Quicksilver, Ocean Pacific, Vans was famous. They are expensive as well. But gagah jugak nak beli. I am in all girls school you see..so showing off what you got is norm, especially those branded ones. We were trying to imitates those southern American teen, a cool carefree look. Selekeh but bergaya. Baggy oversized tee or flannel shirts, pair up with Doc Marten boots or Vans sneakers...we are sooo bergaya ok! For those who are more into lady like look, will opt for Guess. Wearing baby tee and fitted body hugging tee with jeans or mini skirt (think Clueless).

Movies:

When i was a kid, adventure & fantasy movies like Never Ending Story, Back To The Future, The Goonies, Indiana Jones, Wizard of Oz and Disney cartoons (Cinderella, Pinochio, Little Mermaid) was the highlight. And also those funny P.Ramlee movies.I love those movies and watch it over and over again. When in my teen i am more into teen flicks. Cerita tentang riang ria remaja yang carefree and very trendy. Some of the movies i adore are Clueless, Empire Records, Hackers, Reality Bites, Grease and so much more i couldn't remember. Dulu cuma boleh sewa or beli tape. Sebelum tengok kena rewind tape dulu yang sungguh membazirkan masa! Every weekend will frequent the video shop and rent some good & latest movie tape kat kedai Cina. Jalan kakai jauh-jauh pun sanggup.Funny thing was, sometime accidentally rented those 18sx movie because attracted to the title without knowing what movie it is...terkejut mak tetiba terkeluar scene yang tak sepatutnya. Hahahahaha.

Internet:

When internet was introduced in Malaysia, it was still a luxury thing to have in household, due to the high charges. Before i have internet at home, i frequent cyber cafe but only for chatting. Dulu mana ada blog lagi, kalau nak create blog or websites you got to master lots of those complicated html codes and download some softwares, memang susah dan leceh for orang buta IT macam i ni. Dulu cuma ada Yahoo!, so i just browse through yahoo to read latest news. After ada internet at home (18yrs old that time), makin ligat la chatting through MIRC. Berkenalan dengan strangers, bersembang dengan kawan dan juga menipu orang. Rindu nak dengar bunyi bingit everytime want to connect to internet (Jaring 1515), bazir masa tunggu! Funny thing was, i like to chat in Yahoo Chat as well because there i could chat with foreigners and polish my English. So they were very advanced at chatting already, one time i was invited to 'sex chat'. Oblivious of what coming i was trapped in a sexual conversation where he actually expressing every sexual gestures with me. Awkward!!! I just laugh and log off. Hahahaha!

Trends:

Most of people in my era did or may be gone through this. So i just list out what was trending back then. Boyband (backstreet boys, 911, boyzone, 4U2C), Japan drama, Rakan Muda, Iklan murahan tapi epic seperti Dendang, Tora, Adabi, Follow Me, Axion etc, Tamagochi, Brick games, bawak 50sen ke sekolah masih boleh makan nasi lemak, minum air dan beli keropok, Book strap untuk ikat buku teks sekolah (wajib ada), Drama cina pukul 6 ptg, gone to Public Library to borrow books, roller blades, friendship bands, pencil box with many compartment, paper dolls, watch Friends to learn English and also other sit-coms such as Blossoms, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Sabrina The Teenage Witch and also some good series such as X-Files & ER...and sooo much more!

Adam & Flapjack

Remember i told you before that my son love watching Spongebob Squarepants and his favourite character is Plankton? As if that isn't queer enough, i just realized that lately he also love to watch Flapjack on Cartoon Network. Well, i guess most of you never heard of Flapjack cartoon. Me either, never heard of it till i saw this weird & ugly cartoon my son watched.

The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. Flapjack is the boy's name. Which mysteriously raised by a whale and even live inside her. Has a pirate-sy theme. All his friends are bunch of weird looking creatures. I am not sure whether it is funny or not, because it doesn't have any slapstick jokes. I think this cartoon are more serious and not for my 4 year-old son to understand its jokes.

Haih...just look at all the characters..so ugly & scary looking, even has weird personalities. Pelik kan?? Macam mana la anak jantan i boleh suka, tengok pun boleh bagi nightmare.

My Darling Turtle

Recently i posted my daughter, Dania's picture wearing 3D specs on FB. Then one of my colleague told me that she looks like a turtle cartoon she saw once. After she send me the poster picture of that cartoon, i gelak sakan because memang sama laaaa. Sama kan? kan? kan? *LOL*
